A San Marcos debemos el Evangelio que refleja la experiencia y la enseñanza de San Pedro, el principe de los apostoles. Sus reliquias se transladaron de Alejandria a Venecia en donde se veneran hasta el dia de hoy. San Marcos es patrono de los notarios, de los escribanos, entre otros. Su fiesta se celebra el 25 de April.
